The Blue Mountains are a favorite Sydney weekend getaway and day trip hotspot for locals and tourists alike. Featuring lush eucalyptus forests, waterfalls, and sensational cliffside views, most any Blue Mountains hike is guaranteed to knock your socks off.
In case you reside outside of Australia and haven’t heard, let’s just say we’re on the stricter end of the scale when it comes to living during COVID times.
Strict as in, our borders are CLOSED in 2020.

There are many reasons to visit Tasmania, and many more to fall in love with the little island state.
It’s always a risk staying at an insta-famous accommodation. Will it be overrun by wannabe influencers staging photoshoots all over the property? Or are your expectations so high thanks to all the picture-perfect shots plastered on Instagram that you can’t help but be slightly let down if it’s less than perfect?
Thanks to COVID-19, this will be my first full winter spent in Sydney.
If you’re new around here, you may not know that I typically chase the sun… which for me means leaving Australia during winter and traveling in the northern hemisphere, typically to destinations where I can live in tank tops and bikinis every day.
Having spent a cumulative 6.5 years living in and traveling around Australia, I can say with conviction that one of the best things I’ve done in this country is the Perth to Esperance road trip (in fact, I’ve done it twice!).
Often when I’m road tripping, it’s all about what I’m seeing and doing and less about where I’m resting my head at night. Just give me a flat patch of grass or dirt in a somewhat quiet spot, ya know?

Perth is not what you’d call a city brimming with tourist attractions. It’s definitely not the kind of place where you construct a list of must-dos to check off during your trip.
It may not be near the top of most travelers’ bucket lists (admittedly it wasn’t on mine), but Sapphire Coast NSW is one of the most gorgeous stretches of coastline in all of Australia.
