I was on the fence about including Chiang Mai on my 2013 Asia trip itinerary, but when someone I know insisted on hooking me up with a family friend from there, my decision was made.
I’m currently about halfway through my Thailand blog posts, having already written about my time in the Thai islands (Koh Lanta, Koh Kradan, Koh Phi Phi) and in Bangkok.
There are 400+ temples (or wats, as they’re called in Thailand) in and around Bangkok. It’s damn near impossible to go anywhere in the city without seeing at least part of a temple sticking out from behind a wall or building.
I spent 5 months in Asia visiting 6 countries, and traveling in Vietnam was quite possibly my favorite part of it.
I don’t even know why. Nothing really stands out to me when I think back about the 3 weeks I spent there.
