The Best Fleurieu Peninsula Beaches
I recently spent two weeks in April on the Fleurieu Peninsula doing little more than beach hopping and wine tasting, which TBH is exactly what you should do when you’re here.

March was a mixed bag overall, I’d say. We had some great weather, and some horrendous weather. We had amazing days and we had blah days (usually directly correlated with the weather).
During my first trip to Australia’s Sapphire Coast, there was one location I missed that I vowed I’d return to see someday: Bournda National Park.
It hadn’t made the cut the first time because, well, I didn’t know enough about it to make it a priority.

The monthly recaps are back!
I used to love recapping my months back when I did my year on the Australian working holiday visa, and then the following year doing visa runs while on the Australian tourist visa.
I’ve visited a LOT of places in Australia in the cumulative 7 years I’ve lived in this country, but one that had eluded me up until late 2020 is the very-popular (particularly among snow sport enthusiasts) Kosciuszko National Park.
When most people (myself included, until recently) think of Kosciuszko National Park, they picture mountains (and maybe snow). It is Australia’s premier alpine destination, after all.
But in reality, Kozzie is absolutely MASSIVE.
My moving from USA to Australia was not based on reason or research, but on a gut feeling.
There was no planning, no worrying, no pro/con list that I agonized over – and honestly, if I were to go back and do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
So what else is there to see in Australia after you’ve done Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Outback?
LOTS of things. SO many things! Some more popular and touristed than others… others, more off the beaten path.
Important disclaimer: I AM NOT AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER. I cannot advise you on what to do to become an Australian citizen. I am only sharing *my* pathway to Australian citizenship.
Important note: There have been changes to some Australian visa structures in recent years since I went through the immigration process, so what worked for me from 2014-2020 may not work for you today.
