To give you an idea of how much I planned for my recent road trip around High Country, Victoria: I didn’t actually know I’d be doing a road trip until about 3 weeks beforehand, and I didn’t know where I’d be heading until about 2 days before picking up the rental vehicle.

A few weeks ago, a friend and I drove from Sydney to the Blue Mountains for a little day trip adventure. As is the norm for me these days, I felt a little woozy and motion sick from the drive out of the city (all that stopping and starting with traffic always does me in).

When you hear “Tulum”, does your mind go straight to street art?

Don’t worry, I don’t think anyone’s does. Beaches, cenotes, and ruins, sure, but street art? Nah.

New York

I’ve staged many a photo shoot in front of these colorful works of art, usually with me coercing a friend from out of town to “stand there for just a second” while they strike a goofy or badass pose in front of it.

Flashback Friday

I moved to New York City at the start of 2008.

Exactly three weeks later, I found myself on a photo adventure in Long Island City, of all places. I don’t think I’d even heard of this Queens neighborhood before coming here – and if I’m being honest, I probably saw it mentioned in one of my cheesy New York books, such as “1000 Cheap or Free Things To Do In NYC”.
