December 2016 Recap: Hawaii, NYC, Connecticut
Oh I LOVED December so much! This month I returned to the US for the first time in two years and it was every bit as magical and wonderful as I’d hoped it would be.

I’ve got a bunch of posts lined up that are 2016 recaps in some form (it’s still fine to post those in January and February of the following year, riiiight?). This one’s a fun one: it’s a variation on the post I published last year on the 35 Most Beautiful Places I Saw In Australia in 2015.
If 2015 was the year of the nomad, then 2016 was definitely the year of the digital nomad.
Rather than aimlessly wandering around Australia for a second year, I decided to travel more slowly so that I actually had time to work and thoroughly enjoy my surroundings.
Oh November. On one hand, you were chock full of good times and great weather; but on the other hand, you were rife with frustration and disillusionment, so I’m not quite sure what to make of you.

Man, this month was bonkers! Looking back at all the awesome stuff I did and all the stresses surrounding the Australian visa process, I can’t even believe all of it fit into just 30 days.
Oh my sweet baby Jesus. August in a word? Exhausting.
This month I learned something very important about dogs that I’m sure is obvious to anyone who didn’t spend the first 30 years of their life entirely ignoring them in favor of kitty cats.
I won’t lie, July was a bit of a snoozefest compared to most other months of this year. I spent the entirety of it house sitting in Camperdown, an Inner West suburb in Sydney right near where I used to live during my Sydney Uni days.
My time this month was almost equally split between Sydney and Southeast Asia. I wrapped up my Lane Cove house sit and flew to Thailand at the start of the second week of June to squeeze a visa run in before starting another two months of house sits in Sydney.
Gosh, May sure was delightful. I feel like I’m due for some travel mishaps and lowlights one of these days (but, you know, very happy to keep on living that highlight reel if they continue to spare me!).
