The 6 Most Beautiful Places In Asia (That I Saw Last Year)
It’s been nearly a year now since I returned from my epic Asian journey, having completed my first multi-month solo female travel adventure.
Do I miss life on the perpetual road?

Do I miss life on the perpetual road?
I pride myself in crafting excellent, if not over-planned, trips. But planning a 5-month long trip to Asia was beyond anything I’ve endeavored before.
Not to toot my own horn, but I think I did a pretty damn good job researching and planning out my route.
The ‘Best of Vietnam’ photo gallery below is a collection of images I took in May 2013 while traveling in Vietnam. In 3 weeks of travel, I explored the southern half of the country: from Saigon to the Mekong Delta region and back, then on to the sand dunes of Mui Ne, the Dalat countryside and central highlands, central coast beaches, and tailor shops of Hoi An.
I spent 5 months in Asia visiting 6 countries, and traveling in Vietnam was quite possibly my favorite part of it.
I don’t even know why. Nothing really stands out to me when I think back about the 3 weeks I spent there.
You already know that you can visit any of the hundreds of tailors in Hoi An to get clothes and other items custom-made on your Vietnam trip. But what else can you do in Hoi An?
I budgeted 4 days in Hoi An for the famous Hoi An tailoring experience. Here’s how I expected it would go:
I was on the fence about Dalat: should I or shouldn’t I visit the Central Highlands of Vietnam? I hadn’t heard all too much about it, and it’d be so easy to just continue on up the coast from Mui Ne to Nha Trang and keep the beach vibes going.
You know the feeling of having discovered something so incredible and special that you wonder how on earth others haven’t found out about it yet? And then finally they do find out about it, and it “sells out” and no longer has that charm that captivated you in the first place?
Ahh, Vietnam. Markets, conical hats, fish, coffee, and… sand dunes? What?!
That’s right, there are sand dunes in Mui Ne, Vietnam. And not just your run of the mill dunes – I’m talking big-ass, bright red dunes that make you feel like you’re crossing a desert.
I normally write about all of the awesome things I’ve seen and done while traveling and try to convince YOU to do the same someday.
But not this time. This time, I’m telling you what NOT to do when you’re in Vietnam: Do NOT book the Cu Chi tunnels tour.
