July was the 6th month of our big Australian road trip and had us covering more ground than any other month thusfar.
June was spent entirely in Australia’s Red Centre region, which is pretty much smack dab in the middle of the country.
I don’t know about you, but in my mind the Outback is a place that’s perpetually HOT.
This month we begrudgingly left the coast and summer behind for winter in the Outback!
The bulk of May was spent in northern South Australia before we crossed the border into the Northern Territory.
April was the month I hit my stride, in terms of this whole caravan life thing.
We traversed South Australia from southeast to north, bingeing on beaches and wine the whole way, and it was absolutely glorious.
March was a mixed bag overall, I’d say. We had some great weather, and some horrendous weather. We had amazing days and we had blah days (usually directly correlated with the weather).
The monthly recaps are back!
I used to love recapping my months back when I did my year on the Australian working holiday visa, and then the following year doing visa runs while on the Australian tourist visa.
Ah, 2020 – the year that needs no introduction.
Suffice it to say that 2020 looked nothing like I’d imagined or planned. It was supposed to be the year I went back to my nomadic roots, traipsing around Australia, traveling to the US for work and family, and gallivanting around Europe again before returning to Sydney and finding a new home for myself.
Oh boy. 2019 was a bit of a doozy, let me just say.
I had every intention of living a balanced year in which I’d make new friends and strengthen my bonds with my existing friends, go on copious adventures with said friends, do a bit of traveling, do a bit of personal development work, and grow my blog.
Reason #68239 why I love to travel: it always teaches me lessons and reveals things about myself that I didn’t know previously.
So with that, here’s what I’m taking away from my recent Eurotrip from summer 2019:
I’ve been thinking about how to write this blog post for weeks now. Surely it should be a cinch to rehash the major highlights of the past year, especially since most of them already exist in the form of other blog posts, right?
