Dutch Wooden Clogs // FLASHBACK FRIDAY

I can’t say that The Netherlands ranks as one of my favorite European countries I’ve visited, but… it has its charms.

Like the Cat Boat, De Poezenboot. It’s exactly as it sounds: a boat-turned-cat shelter, docked in a canal in Amsterdam.

And… Dutch wooden clogs! When I was there, I definitely did the cheesy tourist thing and stood in a giant-sized pair of clogs in a gift shop. But THEN, while strolling down a random street in a random town in the Dutch countryside, I spotted some clogs set outside of someone’s house. REAL wooden shoes, not on display for tourists but actually in use by a Dutch family. It was as if they set up the perfect photo for me:
