New Zealand is just ridiculous. It’s one of those places that’s endlessly blessed with natural beauty. She couldn’t take a bad photo if she tried.
I spent 4 weeks in New Zealand in January/February 2006, just before starting my year abroad at Sydney University.
I normally write about all of the awesome things I’ve seen and done while traveling and try to convince YOU to do the same someday.
But not this time. This time, I’m telling you what NOT to do when you’re in Vietnam: Do NOT book the Cu Chi tunnels tour.
When you think of Vietnam, what comes to mind?
I always pictured colorful markets, women in conical hats, and people working and living on the river. So not surprisingly, spending time in the Mekong Delta region was an absolute must-do for me – and it ended up being one of the highlights of my entire 2013 Asia trip.
Fun fact: I almost ended up living in Boston after graduating high school; 3 of the 4 universities I applied to were in Boston. I was all too eager to escape small-town Connecticut for city living and was absolutely SET on moving to Boston.
It’s not always easy staying fit while traveling. Eating well, walking everywhere, and carrying a heavy backpack is my fitness strategy in a nutshell, but sometimes you just want a good, hard workout, you know?
My Danish friend Jasmin probably didn’t expect me to RSVP to the invite for her 30th birthday party in bumblef*ck, Denmark in 2010. But I thought hey, it’s been awhile since my last Europe trip (and by awhile, I mean 2 years).
Bangkok is renowned for plenty: glorious temples, colorful markets, wildly inappropriate ping pong shows – but certainly not for coffee.
Still, Bangkok is a massive city – I was convinced there HAD to be a great cup of coffee to be had somewhere.
This probably sounds bad, but I only went to Cambodia to kill time until my broken camera was fixed. While I was in Bangkok, Canon told me they’d likely complete the repair in 1-2 weeks, so I figured it made the most sense to hop over to Cambodia, loop through Siem Reap – Phnom Penh – Sihanoukville, and then back around through Thailand and into Bangkok.
It’s been a month since I left Vietnam and I haven’t blogged a shred about it yet, so I thought I’d give you a little preview of what’s to come, via my Vietnam instagram feed.
I first traveled to London in 2008, visiting a very good friend of mine, Melvin. Nearly 5 years later, I’m back for Round 2! By the time this post goes live, I’ll be kicking off a 2.5 week stint in this fine city and I am SO EXCITED!
